Provider account setup

How it works

It takes a few minutes to set up. Once your provider account is live, your team can arrange a patient's appointment in a couple of clicks.

  • 1
    Create your provider account
Choose Healthcare provider as your organisation type, then add your service's details.
  • 2
    Add your patients
Add patients individually, in bulk by spreadsheet, or via API.
  • 3
    Add your payment card
Add a valid card so your team can start booking. Your service pays DocTap at standard patient rates, and any margin you add for patients is handled outside DocTap.
  • 4
    Arrange appointments
Your team books the GP appointment, test or service on the patient's behalf.
  • 5
    DocTap provides the care
Delivered by a DocTap GP at one of our London clinics, or online when clinically suitable. Clinical records can be shared with your service only where patient consent has been confirmed.
  • 6
    Track bookings and billing
Manage appointments, usage and billing from one dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Can testing be done outside DocTap clinics?

Testing is available through DocTap’s London clinics, with samples processed through our lab network. In some cases, sample collection at a provider’s premises may be possible as part of a bespoke arrangement. Speak to DocTap to set this up.

What clinical records can providers access?

With patient consent, providers can access DocTap clinical records linked to the appointments arranged under their organisation account. This includes DocTap consultation notes, prescriptions, letters, test results and related clinical documents from those visits, not the patient’s wider NHS record.

Who pays for the appointment?

In the provider account, the healthcare provider pays DocTap for consultations by card. Any charge the provider applies to the patient is handled by the provider outside DocTap.

How is patient consent handled?

The provider confirms that the patient has consented before accessing DocTap clinical records. Consent is handled at patient level when the patient is added under the provider account.

Can providers arrange appointments for any patient?

Yes. Healthcare providers can arrange DocTap GP consultations for new or existing patients under their organisation account. The provider manages the booking on the patient’s behalf, and DocTap provides the GP consultation.

Is DocTap suitable for emergencies?

No. DocTap is not an emergency service. Guests with urgent or emergency symptoms should be directed to 999, A&E or the appropriate emergency service.

Can we add diagnostics, testing or other services?

The standard setup is for GP consultations. If you want diagnostics, testing, health screens, on-site lab pathways or other services added to your arrangement, DocTap can set this up for your organisation.

Can healthcare providers add their own charge or margin?

Yes. Any patient-facing charge is at the provider’s discretion and is handled outside the DocTap platform. DocTap charges the provider standard patient rates for the appointment.
